Operating Instructions

  1. Fill the removable water reservoir with fresh water and seat it fully on the base.
  2. For regular coffee, use ground coffee in the grounds basket and choose the cup, travel mug, half carafe, or full carafe size that matches your vessel.
  3. For espresso, insert one compatible Nespresso Original-style capsule, close the capsule handle fully, and choose Espresso, Lungo, or Over Ice.
  4. Place the correct mug, cup, or carafe under the outlet before pressing Start Brew.
  5. Use the fold-away frother only with milk in a separate cup; froth after brewing, then rinse/wipe the frother whisk.
  6. After use, discard the used capsule or grounds, empty the drip tray if needed, and wipe coffee or milk splashes.

Have a problem?

  • Clean or descale light is on
    1. You may still make coffee if the machine is otherwise working, but please tell your host that the Clean light is on.
    2. Do not run a cleaning cycle unless support asks you to.
  • Espresso capsule side will not brew or puncture the capsule
    1. Open the capsule handle, remove and discard the capsule, then try one new compatible capsule.
    2. Close the handle firmly before brewing.
    3. If it still does not puncture or brew, use the regular coffee side and contact your host.
  • Water leaking near the reservoir or base
    1. Make sure the reservoir is seated flat and is not overfilled.
    2. Wipe the counter dry and check whether water keeps appearing.
    3. Stop using the machine and contact your host if leaking continues.
  • Coffee tastes weak, watery, or grounds stay very wet
    1. Use the correct brew size for your mug or carafe.
    2. Use fresh grounds and do not overfill the basket.
    3. For stronger coffee, choose a smaller size or stronger setting if available.
  • Coffee drips after brewing
    1. Leave the mug or carafe in place for a few extra seconds after brewing.
    2. Empty the drip tray if it looks full.
    3. Contact your host if dripping continues for several minutes.
  • Frother does not foam milk well or has milk buildup
    1. Use cold milk in a separate cup and keep the frother whisk below the milk surface.
    2. Rinse or wipe the frother after use.
    3. Do not pour milk into the coffee machine reservoir.
  • Warming plate does not seem hot
    1. Use the coffee soon after brewing.
    2. Do not place anything except the coffee carafe on the warming plate.
    3. Tell your host if the carafe coffee cools quickly.
